Indications

  • Moderate to severe hallux valgus deformity.
  • The angle between the 1st and 2nd metatarsals (IMA) is greater than 13°.

  • Length: 6–40mm, available in increments of 2mm

  • Medial midline straight incision fully exposes the metatarsophalangeal joint and the proximal end of the proximal phalangeal shaft.
  • A 40–60mm long medial longitudinal incision is made at the junction of the metatarsal dorsum and plantar skin.
  • Incision starts from the middle of the first metatarsal shaft and extends towards the proximal end, close to the medial cuneiform bone.
  • Soft tissue laxity is required.
