First Metatarsal Proximal Dorsal Osteotomy Orthopedic Plate

  • Indicated for hallux valgus angle > 40°, metatarsal angle 16°~18°.
  • A 4–6cm long medial longitudinal incision is made on the dorsum of the first metatarsal bone.
  • Incision starts from the middle of the first metatarsal shaft and extends towards the proximal end, close to the medial cuneiform bone.
  • Wedge-shaped or crescent shaped osteotomy is performed on the dorsal side.
  • Suitable for both open and close osteotomy at the base.

  • The angle between the 1st and 2nd metatarsals (IMA) is greater than 13°.
